Floral stenciled plates are hand built using slabs before receiving their designs .  Each image and color is its own layer in the stenciling process and is applied with underglazes before firing.  After the first fire a clear glossy glaze is added and the piece again goes through the firing process.
 
The intensive design process of this piece means that hours are spent with each piece.  Though care in measurement and technique is taken, each piece is unique.
