Everyone loves a success story...

Opening night of the pop-up trailer studio shop went better than I could have expected. I am so excited about the opportunity to continue to build relationships with my community and ceramic customers.

I loved inviting everyone into my workspace and sharing my story, process, and vision with those that wanted to talk.

As awesome as it is to sell work to stores, or to individuals online, nothing beats watching and talking with my customers. Seeing what piece draws them in, which work they end up going home with, what questions they have about the process.

I was so encouraged Friday by everyone who came out, so many of my friends and colleagues made a point to stop in, but so did many many new faces. I knew I would have the support of my friends and family, but it was amazing to see a genuine interest from others in the community.

I was so busy with customers so quickly that I didn't have time to take an interior shot of the space set up! (Oops! Next time!) I sold so much work that I only took Saturday off before getting back into the studio! (It was a good day off though, at the coast with my little family celebrating!)

So, just, a really huge thank you to my family and friends who have been encouraging me along the way. A big thank you to everyone who publicized my story (The Newberg Graphic, The McMinnville Register, George Fox University, and KATU channel 2 news). You all helped get the word out. Another huge thank you to the folks over at The Coffee Cottage, for accepting my request to park my trailer in their drive-thru once it closed and for advertising my event all month.

So what's next?

I will be setting up shop on First Fridays this year in Newberg. Location TBD. I may move around, or I might find that staying in one space is best.

For now follow me on Instagram @jenniferjoystudio or check in on my website to see where I will be at.

The next First Friday is September 1st! (less than 2 weeks away)

I will also be looking for other local opportunities, I promise to keep you all posted.

In the meantime, back to work!
